How Well Do I Know Myself?
I did a few of the "how well do you know yourself" personality quizzes. Here are the results:
Is it just me or do personality tests tell you what you want to hear? After going through these surveys, I feel many of them are accurate according to me but not, at the same time. The questions are so general, how do they understand who we are after we answer a couple of questions? The results always end up being something you want. I know I sound like I'm contradicting myself because that is the point of the personality tests but the answer always seems like a lie. It is never entirely true, it makes you want to believe that is how you are.
What I have learned from the "accurate" quiz of myself is that I am very introverted. I agree with that because I willingly do things on my own. I never like group projects and I am not that social. What I disagree with is that I am not intuitive. I don't believe in things just because my gut tells me to. I believe I am much more logical. I like having a reason to do or believe something. It wouldn't make sense to do it if I didn't have any logic to it. The quiz is also right on the fact that I prefer thinking over feeling. I hate my feelings. I don't bother using them because they are unnecessary. Thinking makes sense, feelings don't. Finally, it is pretty accurate when it says I prefer judging over perceiving. I prefer everything on a schedule and having a structured life. I am not very impulsive, and I like that about myself.
I also did the "Which Harry Potter character are you?" test. My result was Ron, obviously. .

Career Cruising
Career Cruising is a website that asks you questions about your self and what you would like in a job. At the end it shows you a number of careers suitable for you and what it thought you might like. I took the quiz and my top 5 results were:
1.Chemist
2.Astronomer
3.Film Editor
4.Pharmacy Technician
5.Director of Photography
I have to say, these career choices fit my standards. I always have liked chemistry and being a chemist can actually be a career I can live with. I never thought of being a chemist, even though I enjoy chemistry class. My 2nd career option, is exactly what I always wanted to be. Ever since I was 7, I always had a great interest in space. I tell my friends all the time how I want to be an astronomer when I grow up. I think I just have a passion for science. It is a hard subject, but I think it would be worth taking through my high school and university years for a career I would love to have. For the last 3, I am a little confused. I never paid any attention to cameras and film related careers. I admit, I think it is cool how it all works but I never thought of it as a career option. Also, for the pharmacy technician.. uh, really? I don't think I fit in the medicine field. I'm not into human bodies, and all that funky stuff. Overall, I think I want to be an astronomer when I grow up. It best fits me and it is something I have a great passion for.
Career cruising is a pretty good website if you want to know where you think your life should be headed. It was kind of accurate for me, but I think that is just me.
